“Beautiful candid images captured in an unobtrusive documentary style, decorated with timeless images of a loving couple on the happiest day of their lives”.
I’m Phil, above is tantamount to as much of a mission statement as I can manage! It’s not my thing, my thing is watching behind a lens, looking for beauty, looking for moments, character and emotions. Love is a beautiful thing to photograph, I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of capturing it. It can be that moment after the ceremony, the silent “we did it”, it can be the reluctant father of the bride loosening the grip on his daughter’s hand at the end of an aisle, it’s why I photograph people and why I love weddings.
I can’t lie, as a Norfolk Wedding Photographer I prefer to photograph the full story of a wedding, from the morning to the evening. As a photographer, you become more connected to the human story, invest more time and energy and get to record the range of emotions that a couple ride during a wedding day. As a couple, you get to see the hidden chapter of your partner’s morning, relive the whole day from the individual to the shared experience.
How do we do it?
Before the day I’ll meet up with you or speak to you at length about your day. This helps me to get to know you and your priorities, lets me advise you as to how much time you’ll need to put aside for the photographs you’d like, and lets us discuss your ideas.
On the day we’re as unobtrusive as possible in the main but we’ll give you a little natural direction if needed. Always looking for creative shots, details and precious moments. It’s a “we” thing generally on the day because I am a big believer in having two photographers at a wedding where you can, it captures more, gives you two perspectives, allows me to tell a story from two places at the same time and solves lots of problems that a single photographer can face.
As for me, I live close to Norwich with my gorgeous wife, two beautiful daughters and a cat who’s running through his lives quicker than I care to pay his Vet’s bills. I love Norfolk to bits but regularly travel further afield for weddings making regular trips into Cambridgeshire and Suffolk. I’ve been a full-time professional photographer for over 10 years with the last 5 years being spent building my Wedding and Portrait photography businesses.
I’ve loved photography for a long time and remember getting a bit wet about the eyes when my wife bought me my first film SLR camera early in our relationship. I love playing the piano, quite badly, love my work and enjoy being a dad more than words can tell. My personal ambition is to make sure that I get to have a fantastic dance with my daughters on their wedding days.
